Welcome to Burlington ebikes
The Island Line Trail is an old railroad causeway located 10 miles north of downtown Burlington converted to a bike path in the 1990s and named to the Rails-To-Trails Hall of Fame in 2010. It is a must see for visitors to Burlington.
The Island Line Trail is featured in the new PBS documentary: From Rails to Trails, including shots on the Causeway and the bike ferry. This one hour documentary tells the story of the nationwide rails to trails movement. It includes an interview with Rick Sharp, owner of Burlington ebikes, for his work creating the Bike Path in the 1980s.
